dickie58
I had an apses removed from my leg at the "Bangkok Pattaya Hospital" earlier this week, as it has left a small wound i need to go back daily & have the dressing changed, I had the dressing changed yesterday, 475 baht, been back this morning to have same thing done, bill was 775 baht. I asked the cashier why the increase in price, she said ask the dept. I told her your the cashier i'm asking you. She just said i don't know? I fail to understand how the price can increase 300 baht for the same procedure in less than 24 hours? I know your only talking small money, but it's the principal. not the money. Beacher
Didn't you see that dart board they use in the back office to decide on their prices each day? That place is such a rip-off! I don't understand why people go there. Edited September 10, 2009 by Beacher
barryofthailand
G to the second floor international Dept. And have them find out. I broke my finger a few yrs ago, and they had to do surgery in the Emergency room. My insurance covered the entire bill under the accident portion of my Insurance policy with Bupa. I too had to have the wound cleaned daily. The next day when I went back to the Emergency room to have it cleaned they directed me to the Wound Care Center. When I saw that sign, I knew it would be expensive. 650 Baht for five minutes. I bought everything they used to clean my wound, and did it myself on a daily bases. pattaya_girl
I really don't know why people continue to go to this Hospital. There pricing changes when you go to pay. This hospital is best for people on holiday who have lots of money to throw around. I went for some cosmetic surgery a few years back, was given a price. The next day before I was about to be put to sleep, i was asked to go and Pay up,,, the price had gone up about 20.000 bt... lol. When I asked about it, and told them I had changed my mind, the price soon went down again.

PattayaParent
Anyone can change the dressings for you, just go to your local clinic, that's what I did.
rgs2001uk
I find the topic title somewhat confusing. As far as I am aware this hospital has never stopped being at it, in fact its probably at it every day. Why anyone would use it is beyond me. As mentioned by others plenty of options available. Be actually nice if someone in managment at the BPH would be reading all the above comments, but then again they probably know whats going on anyway? Not one good comment regarding the BPH, from any of the above replies, so that obvously says it all about the BPH Edited September 10, 2009 by dickie58

Why asked the cashier she only ask you for the amount on the computer you should go back and ask the department that dealt with you they are the ones that do the pricing if you do not want to do that then ask to speak to a manager they will say they are not available but if you stay at the counter long enough in the end they will find one I know I have done it using both methods and got the price reduced

offset
I will bit the bullet so to speak I have used BPH for the last 2 years my baby was born there and we use them for him and I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer there most of the time I have had no problem with billing and when I have it has always got sorted even when they rung me to tell me that they had OVERCHARGED me by about 15000B and asked if I could come back for a refund The cost of anything depends on different peoples ideas where some people are happy to sit in a waiting room for 3hrs to save a little money others do not want to do that I being one of them so I go to BPH for most of my problems I find that the doctors bill is between 400-600B +150B for facilities which is around 10-13 pounds if I could get to see a doctor in England for that ammount when I wanted to and not have to wait for 1hr or more or told I could have an appointment in 3or4 days I would of had done so

After all the tests the doctor told me I need to come back to see a specialist because I have a problem. Went the next day to sattihip[Queens hospital operated by the thai navy] for second opinion the identical exam 780bt and had no medical problems. From past threads on this subject I got the impression that BPH was an ok hospital but with high prices, Pattaya Memorial was a dangerous place to go, and Pattaya International was a good middle ground hospital.
