Best Place For Repair Garmin Etrex

Featured Replies

I've got a NZ-bought Garmin eTrex Legend Cx, long out of warranty, where the screen won't come on. Could you please give your opinions as to the best place in Thailand to send this for repair? Bonus points for ballparking a cost :)

I really don't want to go through the customs hassle to send it back to NZ for repair.

Thanks for your help!

I would contact Art at Gadgetrend. He would know if it can be repaired here in Thailand.

Tel : 02 678-0707

You can also contact the company below: they are reliable and efficient.

I contacted Garmin for my Vista. They had me ship it to the factory in Taiwan.

When it came back to Thailand they wanted $10 import duty even though it had been sent on an RMA. When they found out I was a foreigner they more than doubled the import duty. So I had it sent back to Taiwan and had it reshipped to me in the States. It cost me nothing to get it in the USA. BTW, I would have paid the $10 but I get my back up when people treat me like I'm really really stupid.

The Taiwan office is very good to deal with.

I do all my out of country repaires through ESRI.

I have sent about 20 units to garmin Taiwan with them

Not a problem yet.
