I use K bank internet banking to pay bills on line.

I wish to pay a bill to a Bangkok based company who have sent me a paying in slip. ( to go and pay at the bank.)

I called them and asked if it was Ok if I paid on line and then fax them a copy of the transfer transaction slip. They said it was fine but I must pay to the SCB (Siam Commercial Bank) comp code.

The paying in slip shows the SCB Comp Code as a four digit number. I have tried setting up an internet payment using the four digit comp code as the bank number, but K Bank tell me that there is an error with the Payee details.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with comp codes, and how I go about setting up a payment to one with K Banking.

Thanks for any info.

SCB comp code represents the company name to SCB and SCB's customers. If the company does not also have a Kbank comp code then you will not be able to pay them via kbank's internet banking. If you check a bill from a large company (true, ais etc) you'll see that the comp code of each bank is listed on the invoice so that that bank's customers can pay via the bank's own service channels. If the company doesn't also use kbank, then you'll have to walk to a SCB branch and pay over the counter. Unfortunately there is no centralised bill payment in Thailand so nothing forces the banks to use the same comp code for each company.
