Why Do Farangs Like Thai Girls With Dark Skin ?

Thais ask me this question all the time and i am unable to give any satisfactory answer.

I say, "why don't thais like darker shades of skin ?" they say it looks dirty, and are amazed at why farangs are attracted to dark skinned females. truly amazed. and they seem to think or expect me to have the answers.

does anyone have an explanation for this (perhaps false) perception ? BTW this sterotype that farangs love dark skin is huge, up there with the walking ATM stereotype.

Opposites attract maybe? Why do asians go to extreme lenghs to stay out of the sun -and even use whitening lotions- while fair skinned westerners engage in equal extremes by baking them selves in the broiling sun "to get a tan."

Yeah, I've been asked the same question and I really don't have the magic answer. Heck, I avoid the sun as well

The Thais I have talked to just simply say because it is more beautiful.

Why do so many white people want to get a tan? Many of them say because it is more beautiful than white.

One of the members mentioned opposites attract maybe. I think we are close to something there.

Going back in time in the west, normally the upper class had more white skin than the working class.

Seems to be a bit the same in this part of the world as well.

No Hi-So people want to look like they do outdoor labour.

I don't think they particularly prefer dark skin, most don't care one way or the other, it's just that the women available to them usually have dark skin.

Many Thais wanna be white, why oh why do they like white guys, why oh why do they think a 120Kg white woman is attractive ?

They just do that's all, cos it's different to them.

Here's a good example, I have an American mate who works for American Airlines, a Farang woman would think he's a real handsome guy, coming from Florida and being Dark haired and dark eyed he is always well tanned. When he comes to Thailand and walks into a bar with me, the girls swarm all over me cos I'm white skinned and think he comes from Iraq !

It really pisses him off....

Then again, I'm extremely handsome also, I know that cos I have been told so many times by so many different girls, I figure they can't all be wrong.

Here's one reason:

Pretty much all Thai females have black hair, including body hair. On pale skin the black body hair really shows up like a sore thumb. I'm talking female mustache, arm hair, leg hair etc...

At least on dark skin such body hair is not immediately apparent. I've lost count of the number of times i've seen what looks to be a beautiful fair skinned girl from a distant, as i get closer she looks more like grizzly adams.

But then again, not all westerners like dark skin.

I know a few (but not many) westerners here that only like Thai-Chinese ladies, due to their less dark skin color.

I really do not care what skin color my wife has.

I love her anyway.

Well, of course, blue, pink, green, would maybe be out of the question.

Guess it is no surprise when I say she also prefer whiter skin, and think she looks less attractive when she has a tan.

Doesnt have any impact on her when I tell her if she is tan or not, I still love her.

Coming form a country where the vast majority have white skin, of course it is more exotic for me with a dark skinned lady.

But that is not the only reason I find women here attractive.

I like dark hair, dark eyes, high cheekbones, and almond shaped eyes.

Just an individual preference.

I don't particularly care what colour the Skin is. I know a few women with milky white skin who avoid exposure to sunlight or daylight. It somehow looks unhealthy to me, like a Ghost or corpse maybe. The Living Dead. Anyhow, maybe a bit dramatic

Sunlight in small doses is heathy , Vitamin D I think. I know its not easy for these woman to strike a balance though as any exposure to daylight will turn there skin into a hideous sokopok dark colour and lower there Social Class dramatically
