Isoc chiefs fear violence Saturday

Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) expressed concern on Thursday about the rally leaders' poor record for maintaining order among their protesters.

Isoc spokesman Maj Gen Dittaporn Sassamit said the agency was worried a "third party with ill intentions" would try to incite violence during the rally organised by pro-Thaksin protesters on September 19.

He insisted the authorities would do their utmost to ensure safety and any violence would not be the work of public officials.

"We are also concerned about the leaders' ability to control a large crowd. It was clear in past protests that the leaders could not do so," he said.

Meanwhile Nattawut Saikua, a leader of red shirted mass rally said they will not take responsibility for any violence outside the protest site.

Nattawut Saikua said there was a plot to frame the red shirts and blame them for any violent acts when they rally on September 19, the third anniversary of the coup d'etat that ousted ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra.

Protest leaders said they plan to begin the gathering at the Royal Plaza on Saturday afternoon and end at midnight. Fugitive Thaksin is scheduled to address the red shirts in a video broadcast at 8.30pm.

Nattawut said the rally would be extended if "the government allows ill-intentioned people to create violence".

He claimed certain groups with connections to unnamed coalition parties were preparing to have men in red incite violence at the National Anti-Corruption Commission office on Saturday and the home of Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda, both of which are not far from Royal Plaza.

Third hand? Could be better expressed as a raised third finger to peace and stability in Thailand, along with high season and economic recovery.

Yet, some here actually appear to relish this dim prospect....

Who has the most to gain if Thailand loses via further incited unrest?

Spelled: T-H-A-K-S-I-N

End of, period.

Might also add, Red co-leader Mr Nattawut (or perhaps just plain 'Nut' for short?) forgets his words of last week:

"On Sept 19, the three-year anniversary of the coup which toppled the Thaksin Shinawatra government, we will not retreat again but will stand and fight," said Natthawut Saikua.

Well if you are so worried why have th rally???

Actual this is a threat to let it all go south fast, mixed with an attempt to shift the blame to 'unknowns'.

If it stays calm till the midnight rally ending,

well these jokers brought 0-100,000 people who hate the government together in one place,

and cut them loose at midnight... Oh not our problem then... NOT!

They have little choice but to accept responsibility till the area

is well and truly cleared back to NORMAL everyday population.

Well in equal measure there is a plot by the Red Shirts to blame

ALL their enemies for THEIR OWN VIOLENCE.

What would scare the "authorities" even more, is if they all just peacefully decided to sit down and go absolutely no where for about say 5 months or so.

The kettle is starting to boil, lets see what happens.

Half the red wa_nkers couldn't sit still for 5 minutes without wanting to cause trouble - 5 months, NO WAY, that takes real dedication to effect change and not blind paid for obedience to which the majority of red's are dedicated.
