Visa Runs From Hua Hin

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I'm on a one year multi entry non O and in a few weeks my first 90 days will be up, so i'll need to leave and re enter. I'm in Hua Hin so i'd be interested in people's thoughts as to my most viable options re borders for exit and re entry. Thanks in advance.

I live in Prachuap Khiri Khan (just outside the city). When faced with a similar dilemma before getting my retirement extension I travelled via Bangkok (afternoon Sprinter train) stayed overnight in BKK hotel and took a popular early morning visa run to Cambodia (by coach-not sure I can mention name here).

Back in BKK in time to catch an afternoon or evening train South after lunch and rest up at a Cambodian casino! Home by around 11pm (earlier at Hua Hin).

From a cost perspective this came in at around 5000 Baht for everything.

Being based in Hua Hin you could catch an international train which stops there, South to Butterworth in Malaysia-nice if you fancy a day or two in Penang.

Of course there are several other more expensive alternatives using the air link from Hua Hin to BKK and onward. Or cheaper using an express bus service either North or South.

I personally would not use a crossing into Myanmar (there are none locally). Hopefully some of the Hua Hin crew will pick up on your post and maybe come up with some better alternatives.

Good Luck.

Many people seem to go to Ranong and do their back & forth to Burma.

Don't know if there's a van service that does this, ask around at a couple of the bars downtown.

As some one sugest it before take the train to Butterworth have a night or two in Penang or you can get of in Hat Yai take a taxi to the border (about 20 min ) and get your stamp. Return trip to Hat Yai from Hua Hin about 1800 baht, return trip to border 400 baht, Penang return trip 2400 in aircon sleeper and 1.2 ringet

for the ferry return
