bazmlb
Just a thought: I came up behind the most luscious Italian classic coupe this week, sans rear bumpers. Must have been an early VW Karmann Ghia. When did they move Germany to Italy? I really must keep up on the news -- a little embarassing to miss big stories like that one. But to answer the question, I'd like to get my hands on an early 70's Toyota Celica coupe. It may not seem terribly exciting to most people, but there's something about those cars that I've always liked. Beacher, Take a look at this 67 Toyota Trueno. Almost like a Celica. It's got a late model 4A-GE 1600cc dual overhead cam motor. Like the minilite mag wheels. http://www.one2car.com/CarInfor/cardetails...94491&row=2 looks cool, but its as old as me

I've never heard if that model - sort of reminds me of a cross between the early Corollas and Celicas. I'd probably be happy roaming around in that, but I still want an old Celica, too. That 2000cc Celica is a pretty daring colour, but it works with the body style. It looks to be in excellent condition, and the whole collection is enviable. mca
Some initial thoughts: Jaguar, A restored late 1980s XJ series 4.2 would be a nice car. I've seen a few being driven around unrestored.
63Tommy1
How about a Chevrolet Belair , ca 1960, with a Nissan 2.0L turbo engine? http://www.one2car.com/CarInfor/cardetails...90417&row=2 Nice looking car, would look better with a big V8 though, easily fixed? midasthailand
As you head out to Suwannaphum from sukhumvit there’s a row of large restaurants on the left side beside the freeway. There are also a couple of housing estates nearby. One of the restaurants has a lake in the middle. As you drive around the lake they have older cars in need of restoration parked in sheds. It may be worth inquiring. Sorry I can’t remember the restaurants name. Sounds like Phe Ing Nam restaurant where they jet ski on the lake during the day and early evening

If so, I'll be cheeky and ask how much per day was paid for it to just sit there and look lovely? Or is that TOO cheeky?? No, i bought it later, in Phuket, drove it back to Pattaya. In that time didn't know it was a former moviecar, but i was suprised when some staff from a Hotel told me when i arrived with the car. They made pictures all over. I didn't had it for long time, because i fount it to beautyful for Pattayas heavy traffic, i as always woerried it could be damaged by some motorcycles or whatever. So finally some guy in Pattaya offered me a god price, i sold it again.

This is the same car, it was mine, i din't know the guy want's to sell it again. Yes it's worth the money. It's the same price i sold it to him. There is no way to find such a chevy in good condition like this one. Similar Chevy in the US cost about 35'000 USD, that's over a milllion Baht. I personally loved the car, but i din't keep it because it's to beautyful to drive as a daily driver.

sgunn65
When I was looking there were several Jaguar XJ6 around selling for 350K - 600K. Most were a little tired. I ended up paying more for a 72 series 1 which had been through a one year ground up restoration. But it is in showroom condition. I bought it from Rengboon Classics in Bangkok. www.rengboonclassicauto.com They do total restoration jobs and their yard is a classic car lovers wet dream. Some very high end cars but also some not too expensive ones. I tried a very nice Daimler before settling on mine. But there is a Mercedes 350SL from the early sixties that I would kill for. Out of my price league though.
