40k P/m For Marriage Visa, In Wife's Bank?

Featured Replies

I am on a Tourist Visa, and have more than 40k p/m. My working wife doesn't.

For the Marriage Visa, is it enough for her to show 40k p/m going into her account (and then back into mine)? Or does she need to show tax receipts etc?

Thanks.

The money can't be connected to your wife in any way. The income has to be seen to be coming into your bank with your tax receipts etc.

The 40k/month has to be your income. For earnings within Thailand you will have to show tax receipts. For earnings outside Thailand you will have to obtain an income letter from your embassy.

There is no marriage visa, there is the non-O visa that can be applied for if you are marreid to a Thai national. Just to be clear, you don't get one if you both are not Thai nationals.

Are you are asking how your non-Thai wife can stay in Thailand when she doesn't earn 40,000 a month? It would depend on her nationality, but it might be that she needs to stay in Thailand on a multiple non-B visa and leave the country every 90 days.

In your other post you say Girl Friend.

Girlfriend ? Wife?

Thanks for the info.

GF, possibly soon to be wife (thai)

I do hope your 40K per month is from outside Thailand??

Otherwise when you get married and apply for an extension

all the Thai tax receipts from your time on a Tourist Visa may raise

some red flags at Immigration.
