Stone Paver Sidewalks - Why?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know why stone pavers and sand are used for the sidewalks here rather than just poured concrete?

- Is it considered more attractive?

- Easy access to utilities underneath?

- Cheaper in cost?

Seems like these sidewalks have a very short lifespan and look like crap after about 6 months. Not to mention the nasty water that splashes up when you step on a loose paver!

Using pavers and sand are very common in raining location since allows the rain to seep through the sand and ground. But unfortunately over her they do not do a good job, by using concrete mix instead of sand alone and other material other than sand. They also do not sure up the ground properly by compacting the dirt first. But is a good idea if they do it right
