I live in Khon Kaen and am on a 12 month extension through marriage. My extension expires on the 7th October. Wishful thinking had hoped that the Khon Kaen immigration office would be open by then but that's not going to be the case so it's another trip to Nong Khai.

My question is this.

Kind posters on here have informed me that a 60 day extension is available by just showing my marriage certificate and paying the fee. Is this option available for current extension holders or only for those people who're on an original non-imm visa?

Basically I want to extend for the 60 days at NK, by then hoping the KK office will be open and I'll then I'll extend for the whole year using the 400k route in KK. It'll save me the extra trip to NK a month after the application is submitted for "under consideration" and if the paperworks not 100% in order initially it'd be great to sort out out locally and return to the KK office seeing as I live literally 5 minutes from them rather than keep trekking to Nong Khai with an extra copy from the bank or whatever .

Of course in 60 days if the KK office isn't open I'll have no option but to go to NK for the 12 month extension but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

Cheers for any feedback.

Yes. You are eligible for a 60 day extension to visit your Wife.

As for the KK Office. Currently only open for 90 day reports if you take your own paperwork as you probably already know.

Thanks LB. So basically (just to make things crystal clear for me because i"m dumb) Next week I can do 60 day extension of my current 12 month extension and then before those 60 days expire go for another full 12 month extension using the 400k.

What's the paperwork for the 60 days please?

Marriage cert plus copies

My passport

Couple of photos

Anything else? Wife's ID card? Does my wife even have to be there?
