Change browsers mate. IE is shit. I cant see it being Zone alarm as this is a anti virus. Did it used to work? Anyway try a different browser and see what happens. It will be worth it. i find that Firefox is way faster and gives me nearly no cant find page sort of thing. Try it. By the way it will be worth it.To see the St Andrews cross. If its worth it i may try and find you a flag of your choice. If you wish.
taxexile
do i just download it and will it set itself up , or do i have to fiddle about with it to set it up. will my favourite pages transfer automatically and will internet explorer just be dormant in case i want to go back to it. can i change between ie and firefox with a mouse click. do i need to reconfigure zonealarm etc. sorry for all the questions but i am not very computer literate and dont understand any technical terms and usually find that messing around too much f*cks something else up. if its very easy then i'll have a go ,i know that a lot of posters swear by firefox or mozilla. but if its a big job then i will forego the dubious satisfaction of seeing the moving version of the st.andrews cross and that bint jiggling her t*ts

Easy. It will ask you if you want to transfer your favourites etc. You say yes 2) IER will always be there. No matter what. It comes with Xp etc. I personally only use IE for Hotmail.. everything else if i can i use FIrefox. no you shouldn't have to reconfigure Zone alarm. 3) its not a big job or difficult. Are you on dial up or broadband? Dial up will take about a hour i think to download but on broadband i'm not sure. Obviously quicker.

Abandon
If tax is not so computer literate, he would be better off with Maxthon.... Firefox is probably better but maxthon will be eaiser as it uses the IE engine, and he will not have to download extensions or learn a new program. Mazthon should do everything he needs. It does for me.... I doubt that zone alarm is interfering - you can always right click the ZONE ALARM icon and turn it off. Turn it back on in START/PROGRAMS/ZONW ALARM Have you installed or just started using any graphics programs recently?? I would suspect a virus - do a virus scan at http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/global/enterprise.htm go down the page and look for the "free virus scan" but on dial up it will take a good half an hour or more to download the scanner so be patient.. Even with zone alarm and a virus scanner, viruses/malware can still get in unobserved. Otherwise installing the latest patch/upgrade at the M$ web site might work.... Also try INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY - and set to medum-low - this is secure enough if you don't go to porn web sites and suchlike.

cdnvic
I had this problem, I reinstalled java, and all was fine. Now, for other people here, when someone asks for help, please give them advice rather than promote your favourite kind of rival software. I'll admit to making this mistake sometimes but it gets repetitive when someone asks for help with one piece of software and most of the answers he gets are people telling them to try a new piece of software. I imagine it gets annoying to the poster if he only has to change settings but instead gets everyone telling him to do a new install of a rival brand (with its own bugs and quirks). IE, Maxthon, Firefox, Opera, Netscape, etc, are all good browsers that will do the job. They each also have their own annoyances and it normally easier to fix one than install all the others every time you have a problem. I'm not trying to be bitchy, but all of us do this nearly everytime someone asks a browser, firewall, or AV/Spyware question (yes, me too). I just want to make sure we're doing more helping and less promoting.Your help btw is very much appreciated here. cv

Most of the moving avatars are animated GIF's. Modern browsers can loop through these. No Java (or JavaScript) involved.

That was back with IE5. cv
