Where To Buy Fish Atlas In English Or French

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking for a thai fish atlas or south east asia fish's, i'm looking in amazon but i don't find anything correct, can you please help me ?

Thanks.

I bought Southeast Asia Tropical Fish Guide by Debelius from a dive shop located down a soi left side of Sukhumvit just past Asoke.

Edit I just checked and that book is out of print now. It's been replaced by Asia Pacific Reef Guide.

Maybe this one ? Philippines is very near but i would like the same for Thailand.

Wow those prices are high. I bought a range of his books under 1,000 Baht each a few years ago and think they are good. They are full of high quality photos with scientific names etc. Generally the fish in Thailand are similar or the same as those found from the Red Sea through Asia.

Instead of buying off Amazon try some of the local dive shops to see if they have books in stock or buy directly from the publisher IKAN. I bought mine from Dive Supply on Sukhumvit 23.

Try Marine Fishes of South-East Asia (a field guide for anglers and divers) by Gerry Allen, published by Periplus. Available at most good book stores, priced at circa 1000 baht. The drawn illustrations (no photos) are awesome and there's even a star rated guide for the edible fish and warnings for those that aren't (P for Poisonous)
