Anyone have experience of sending items abroad from Thailand using the Post Office?

Interested to know if they are generally reliable or not.

Sending mail out is generally no problem at all.

Only had a couple of problems in the last 3 years, but i believe that wasnt the Thai side.

I send birthday and Christmas gifts to the UK. Always received (about 10 days or so from posting). I send them registered.

I sent birthday and Christmas gifts to Argentina. Two times the items went missing. But, this has happened a couple of times when posting from the UK, so i believe its the Argentine end. Last Christmas I was sent a parcel from Argentina which i thought had gone missing, but actually it just took a VERY long time (about 6 weeks or more)..but it did get here.

So yeh, some other countries that you are sending it to may have a problem with a parcel from Thailand, or they just pilfer some interesting looking stuff....but in my experience, no problems this end.

I've probably shipped 50 items, always certified or EMS from Thai Post, to Europe and the USA over the last three years; all delivered intact.

The worst delays have always been at the destinations customs departments.

Under 2 kilos there is no tracking on normal post, so if it has a value send EMS id say, but in general its very good, we just had box back that wasnt collected in mexico, it took a year to get back !, but its value is $500, .we were told if we didnt collect it quickly it would be auctioned off in bkk,, ,charges were a reasonable 2500 baht, ,all in all i find them good, customs coming in however are another story !,. :) ,
