Hi,

Going in a very few days to re-apply for an extension of stay based on "married to a thai", I have 2 little questions:

  • Does anyone have some kind of sample of the balance confirmation letter from the bank? Sample from SCB would be best, as my SCB branch I just visited this morning did not seem to understand what I was talking about.
  • Reading the Thai Police Order 777/2551 – translated by Issan Lawyers, I found the 2 months delay for the 400Ko bahts. Is that 2 months before the end of the present extension or 2 months before the submission of the new one? And what about these people talking about 3 months? (In case, I'm in BKK)

Thanks for your inputs

The translation says 2 months and most will accept that for first application. For later applications they want the 3 months (the same as for retirement). It appears you may need 3 months as you say re-apply. The time is prior to application.

The letter just has to state your name/account number/balance with a date and signed by bank official (normally the manager) and addressed for Immigration Police.

Yes it has to be 3 months for subsequent applications at BKK!

Here is a sample letter, sorry don't have one from SCB but should make it clear to your bank as to what you need.

EDIT:

The letter I posted was issued at a time when combined (husband/wife) accounts were still accepted. Now it has to be your account only!

second edit: the time of seasonig has to be over on the day of submitting the application!
