Where To Go Shopping For Household Items, Startup Stuff For New Arrivees

Featured Replies

Is there a good place to get low price or even second hand stuff like room fans, hot water maker (for the kitchen), bed sheets, pillows, all of that stuff a brand new person has to get? Or is the only bet going to big c and tesco? I can't settle on a long term apartment yet and may have to throw stuff out after a month or two so would prefer to buy cheaper stuff for now.

Dont know about second-hand stuff, but try Home Pro for one-stop shopping.

Home Pro is pretty good for most of that kind of stuff. But, having gone through this in just the last few months, I found that wandering around Central and Paragon/Emporium department stores will also yield some good sale prices.

There is no real answers to your questions, because the list of where you can purchase these items is endless and it`s all down to how much you are willing to pay, what sort of quality you expect, preferences, choice and only you know that.

Best to do what I done when I arrived in Thailand, is to get on a motorbike and spend a day visiting the stores. With a pen and paper at hand, list down what you want.

I thought Thai were too proud to have used item stores , doesn't everything have to be purchased new to save face , even poor families have to buy school supplies new , shame realy , could be a good source of income selling previously owned items . How about starting a thread on items xpats wish to dispose of on TV , could be good savings on both sides of the equation .

We already have one. It`s called: Classifieds.

Portlandstone,

You don't say where you are, but if there's an 'Index' nearby you will find a very wide range of household items.

This is the nearest I can think of to being a 'one stop shop'
