Hallo boardmembers!

Info about myself : over 50 and I,m Scandinavian.

The problem is as follows : I don't have 800000baht

in a thaibank at the moment ( but have an account in Bangkok Bank).

I'm going to be an expat in Thailand ( Chieng Mai).

A couple of days before I leave, I will get money from the house I've sold.

I'll get the money when I present the keys to the house at the bank and they transfer the

money to my account. The same day I'll transfer money to my account in Thailand (3-5 days).

I also have a pension so it's no problem moneywise.. but I'm worried

about the visa. I can stay 2+1 months no problem. But I'll have to have the 800000 for three

months. I'll coming down and I'm going to be 7-10 days short to reach the 90 days. Can I just leave Thailand for a visarun to reach the 90 days limit for the money

in the bank? Need some Bm that can read beetween the lines here..sorry rather difficult message to understand..sorry...

If it is your first Extension application the money has to be in the bank for 2 months.

You can also apply using your pension topped up with money in the bank if you wish. Then the money only has to be in the bank a few days.

The rules for extension of stay based on retirement are 800k in Thai bank account for 2 months for first application (generally 3 months for subsequent applications) OR 65k a month pension/income OR combination of the two arriving at 800k. Using the combination method bank funds do not have to be seasoned.
