Noticing my puppy had a fever and diarrhea, I ran her into the Vet this evening and found out that she has a bacterial infection, something the Vet said they are seeing a lot of today due to flooding in the local communities near Srinakarin road.

Just a quick heads up. Some of the symptoms are diarrhea, blood in the stool and fever.

Bina, unlike the tremendously helpful advice and comments you have given in the past, I am going to be very unhelpful here.

What bacteria? Well, the Vet showed me the bacteria on the TV screen, which were darker small circles and greyish white in the middle, and there was also some squiggly things that she said was something else. The dog could have got the infection from either drinking the water, licking the pads of her paws or licking somewhere else after laying in the yard. As for the medicine, I checked the packages they put the pills in, and there are two types of antibiotics and something else for the fever.

As completely unhelpful as any of this is, it is really all I know. I didn't ask. It is a Vet I trust and so far, the dog is responding just as she said it would.

All the best,
