Ping Speed On Tot Internet

Featured Replies

Hi.

I know there are loads of posts about slow internet on this forum, but I think something may be wrong with mine. When I run a ping test to a site in thailand (using cmd prompt "ping www.____" it gives me an average of 501ms (as of 22.00pm). This seems crazy, as it is within Thailand. I would expect it to be bad elsewhere, but surely TOT can sort it out within the Country? Basically, I am having trouble connecting with online games on my ps3. Also, in the morning at around 7am it is as low as 30ms.

Can anyone on TOT internet out there do a quick ping test for me, just so I can determine if it is my connection or a common problem for all users. I am on (supposedly) 3mb package.

Thanks if anyone can help!

TOT line

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 203.174.85.146, timeout is 2 seconds:

!!!!!

Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 540/614/720 ms

So yes, the problem is TOT. No matter how fast your up/download is, latency is a headache on the TOT network and no, they don't know what we're talking about.

Do a tracert to your game server.

To do a tracert, click 'Start' and then 'Run'. Type "cmd" into the box and click 'ok'.

A DOS black screen will appear. Type after the C:\>

tracert www.xxxxxx.com (site address of your game server)

and press enter key

Looks like Maxnet is not half bad in that regard (Premier):

TOT has a big problem, and last night the internet died. So yes when you pinged TOT was basicly plugged traffic.

If anyone is interested, they seem to have sorted it out niw and the last couple of days I have been getting much better results (around 40ms) so I am happy, for now...
