Hi,

I'm on a double entry TR Visa, issued in Vientiane and currently using my first entry (60 days). Now, can i extend this first entry by 30 days in a immigration bureau without "deliting" my second entry? And after that, can i extend my second entry again without having problems to get antother double entry TR in Vientiante?

I'm asking this because the last time i had a single entry with a extension the embassy or consulate in Penang said NO for a new visa because they didnt like the extension stamp!!!

Does anyone have experience with the extensions and double entry TR visas and could help me? I dont want to "risk" extensions and pay for them when it would "delete" my second entry or a new visa.

Thanks a lot for your help!

We can not predict the future - at this time only Penang seems to have a specific objection to an extension stamp on a tourist visa.

But also keep in mind the validity of your current visa is only three months so your second entry will have to be made within that time - even if your extension of stay for 30 days allows you to stay in Thailand beyond that date.

Thanks a lot for you quick answer. I know no one can say what they'll do in the future, but does anyone have experience with extensions and applying for a new visa in vientianne?

And cheers for the tip about the visa validity. Since my first entry expires on the 26 of Oct. i could get a 30 day extension till the 25th of Nov. wich would still be before the 26th of Nov. where my visa expires. Hence i could get the second entry on the 25th of Nov. Is my calculation right?

Vientiane has been issuing a red stamp to some people with several back to back tourist visas. Have a look at this thread:

With only one double entry tourist visa in your passport, based on reports do not believe you will have a problem applying there again.

The 60 day permission to stay from first entry plus continuous 30 day extension will take you past the "use before" date on your visa (usually day 89). You must leave and re-enter Thailand the DAY BEFORE the date showing on your visa AT THE LATEST to activate your second 60 day stay.
