hi all

i know this has had some coverage before but i cant find it!

i desperatly want to be able to mount my video on to the bike to shoot and share some rides, i imagine on the handlebars would be best as it would allow on off control, reducing vibrtion would help i guess.

does anyone know of a readiliy available system and where to get (chiangmai prefered) hope it doesnt cost more than the bike

and mounted with this camera http://www.tohome.com/product_detail.aspx?..._id=20090500183 inserted an 4gb sdhc card and made a 1000km/day biketrip with this on it ...worked great and easy to handle plus the camera is waterproof too.

Ram Mounts are probably the easiest and most secure way to attach cameras, phones, GPS, etc to a motorcycle. Only retailer I know of in Thailand is GadgetTrend in Bangkok. If you like I can buy a set for you and send them up. Or just go online and order from the US where the prices are MUCH lower. Even with shipping and duty you might get a better deal ordering online than paying retail at GadgetTrend...

I agree with Tony, go to the States. I just got a bunch of Ram products for my bike, well constructed, look like they'll last forever. I used White Horse Press in New Hampshire. Sailed through customs no duty, so they were *way* cheaper than Gadget..

You're looking at importing a camera mount out here. Unfortunately good, specialised bike kit like that is nonexistent in Thailand.

I've got two tank mounts. Ones from Germany, the others from the US.

I sourced them both from Ebay...

I mentioned the Starider to BigBikeBKK in another post a while back, which seems like a good product. The link takes you to the place to buy em, plus there's Youtube footage of a SV650 using one at Broadford. Broadford being blazed onto my memory after I over shot one particular corner and ended up offroading for some distance on the slippery dewy grass! Stayed upright though!

^ Yeah- I have one of those tank mount camera holders as well, which I bought on eBay for about $40 with shipping. Very small item and it wasn't charged duty.

My most recent videos were taken using that camera holder and I'm pretty happy with the holder (still trying to find the 'perfect' video camera though...)-

thanks for all the input, will probably try ram, thats what holds the sat nav in place with little shake that i can see (maybe we are throbbing at the same frequency )
