October 29, 200916 yr Yesterday my partner had her interview at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. We had applied for a Partner Migration Visa (309-100) on the 8th of October. We believe the interview went quite well besides being fairly long. She was interviewed for about one hour and lots of questions were asked including: Where and when we had met Names of my family members and the amount of contact she had with them My previous relationships and why the ended My finicial situation If I had visited her family My accomodation in Australia and where we would life What kind of job she would be working in in Australia Why we are not married yet Our future plans My relationship to her daughter During the interview the case officer asked if we could supply more photos. We had already sent over 100 photos with our application but luckily I like to snap away so now a cd-rom with another 3000 (!) photos is on its way to the Embassy. I'm also still waiting on my National Police Clearance (NPC) from Australia which is a new requirement for those who have children included in their application to migrate to Australia. Our case office told us waiting time for a decision on the visa is another one to one and a half months. Let's hope everything works out. Keep your fingers crossed!
October 30, 200916 yr I think if you have satisfied the interviewer with answers to the above, you are finanicially secure etc you should get the "nod". Their concern main seems to be is it a genuine relationship and can you support yourself, partner and any children in your case in Australia as there is no social security for your partner for 2 years after arrival.
