November 5, 200916 yr I got to refill a 2.7 benzine at Shell on Vibahradi Rangsit the other day ("dtem tank") and the bill came to 2100THB. Now if the tank is 65L and the price is below 31THB/L for 91 Gasohol, was I ripped off, or is the tank size actually larger than 65L?
November 5, 200916 yr Try this thread: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Fortuner-Own...sh-t218513.html Maybe the PDF has the info on the 2.7L models as well as the 3.0 diesels.

Fortuner has shorter wheelbase than Vigo so tank is just 65 litres compared to Vigos 75 litres. In 2003 a gas station managed to fill my 2003 CRV with 65 litres while tank was only 50 litres. I learned to check the pump is reset at zero when start filling my vehicle
November 6, 200916 yr Fortuner tank is 65 litre. Specs here. (Sorry, in Thai as English section of website has some nasty script virus on it according to virus check.) I learned to check the pump is reset at zero when start filling my vehicle If the pump filled more litres than the tank capacity, not reseting is the most likely culprit. Fines are enormous for fiddling with pump calibration, not to mention, that it quite hard for the average pump operator to do without contacting the technicians from the pump manufacturer.
November 6, 200916 yr My new Fortuner shows zero kiloms left at about the 59 litre mark. I assume this is normal and that the other 6 is margin for refill. Before I rely on this and risk running out of fuel somewhere remote I would like to carry a can and see when it does run out by reference to the computer. My question is, does anything bad happen to the system if you run out of diesel? I seem to recall seeing somewhere that it's not a good idea for a diesel engine - but that maybe an outdated recollection and may be because older tanks have detritus that can clog up the system. Any diesel engineers or mechanics out there?
November 6, 200916 yr Author not reseting is the most likely culprit. Yes, thanks, I'll be more careful next time as others have mentioned and pay them a visit again!
