November 6, 200916 yr I'm sure this question must have been covered before, but a search in the forum doesn't return anything useful. For those of us living outside town and driving into town for a few (too many?) drinks, where can we leave the car securely parked overnight if we take a taxi home and return the next day? Obviously some of the larger hotels in town have parking areas, but as we would not be a guest leaving the car might not be appreciated. Any one know of secure places? Thanks
November 6, 200916 yr Some of the hotels would probably be happy to let your car stay in their lot for a reasonable fee.

Thanks There is a car park in the Chiang Mai Pavillion on Chang Klan Road (the building that has McDonalds). I'm not sure about how much it would be for over-night parking. I'll ask them later today.

Most hotel parking lots wouldn't even care if you left a vehicle there. Or just park anywhere that's reasonably safe in terms of likelyhood of drunk drivers in cars or motorbikes crashing into your car. Anyway, for the price of a taxi ride out (and then back the next day) you can also just get a room overnight. Just park right there then. Short-time hotels especially tend to have absolutely terrific parking, with your own private parking spot with doors or curtains that close behind your car. November 6, 200916 yr Author take a cab into town, dah, problem solved, lol.maybe not safe to leave at home?lol Yes, that's of course the obvious thing! If that was the easiest solution I'd not have posted the question in the first place! Getting a cab can be tedious process, and maybe also want to combine with shopping etc, hence the query. I like the short-time hotel option, which has the option of a room for the night as well if you get lucky....... Edited November 6, 200916 yr by Artamus
