True Story: Brit Entrepreneur Parker

Featured Replies

Somewhere in England (Bristol? not sure).

A parking lot attendant worked every day at the local zoo. There were 40 spaces for cars and 5 for tour buses. Car spots were 1 pound, and buses were 5 pounds to park.

The parking attendant, always cheery, in his uniform and cap, took the fees. After 17 years he was gone. No one even knew his name.

The Zoo office called the local gov't administration to tell them to assign a new attendant. The gov't office said they had never assigned anyone, and always thought the Zoo parking was administered by the Zoo staff.

The guy averaged about 400 pounds per day. All told, it's estimated he grossed nearly 5 million pounds (around 7 million dollars). ....all tax-free, in his pockets. True story.
