Hi all. I know this is a Thai forum but I am hoping that some of you may be able to give me some advice.

My situation is that I want my Vietnamese girlfriend to visit the UK for three months next year. I have read the UK FCO information on this subject, however, I want to get this right.

Any advice on the do's and don'ts concerning the process would be valued.

I am able to support the visit both in the fact that I own my own house and have a good income.

THank you all in advance.

I can only speak of the American Embassy in Hanoi.

Hanoi is one of the most difficult city to obtain a Visa for the US (all types) unless you can prove compelling

reasons with certified, verified, absolute proof.

I've no direct experience but a mate had to attend his daughter's wedding in Greece, they are Brits and why she got married in Greece is a long story, but he took his Vietnamese wife with him, Shengen visa I'd guess, and it was quite amazing the volumes of stuff she had to submit with her application. Most of it, obviously, was financial but also a lot of stuff to prove her intent to return (she owns a small hotel up in Quang Ngai province so no problems).

So your best approach is to approach the British embassy in Ha Noi and ask them what they need and just be prepared to supply all you would for a Thai woman plus plus.
