THAI increases flights and seats for Songkran revellers

BANGKOK: -- Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) will increase its seats and domestic flights to serve Thai and foreign passengers during the forthcoming Songkran festival, according to the company's President, Kanok Abhiradee.

Mr. Kanok told TNA yesterday that the national flag carrier would provide additional 7,000 seats, from 86,000 to 93,000 seats for all its aircraft, to serve the Songkran revellers.

The company would also increase its domestic flights from Bangkok to major tourist destinations in the country's northern and southern regions and vice versa between 12-17 April, the prime time of the traditional Thai New Year celebrations, he said.

"The increased flights are mostly on the northern and southern routes, including Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Chiang Rai, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Surat Thani, Bangkok-Krabi, Bangkok-Trang and vice versa", he disclosed.

For more details, passengers are welcome to call the company's 24-hour public relations and reservation services at 02-6282000, 02-2800060, according to the THAI chief.

"The increased flights and seats will generate more incomes to both THAI and the nation's tourism industry as a whole", Mr. Kanok mentioned.
