I've just received word from my son in England that a letter I sent to him recently arrived in 5 days!! is this some sort of record? Pattya to Lincoln in 5 days I can't belive it! :o

I was sent a package from Pattaya to Mid Wales, UK, with TNT, it was sent on a monday i received it at my door midday thursday, brilliant.

I have sent packages the other way, taken between 2 and 3 months, crap uk postage, as when i have tried to track them it says on royal mail website, not yet passed to overseas delivery, so sometimes Thailand post aint to bad.

5 days Thailand to UK seems about the norm to me.

The best I ever had was posted in Kanchanaburi Friday, arrived UK Monday am.

Mind you this only happened once! Usual is between 7 and 12 days.

As for sending items to Thailand it usual takes 10 days minimum but that is away from BKK. Problem is not Royal Mail but Thai post. Getting it out to the sticks is just too slow and then the postie may wait a few days before he has enough in his sack to make it worth a delivery.

When I'm posting from Thailand to the UK I always give it 7 days to be on the safe side and I always hand my mail in at the Post Office directly.

I've never had anything go missing or turn up late.

I'm still waiting for my mum's Christmas card. :o
