SUVARNABHUMI: -- Among all the explanations for the problems at Bangkok's trouble-plagued Suvarnabhumi Airport Thai geomancer Mas Kehardthum is convinced that geomancy can explain the whole thing.

Indeed, Suvarnabhumi airport construction was started in the wrong phase of Jupiter as an improper calculation was made for structures in the city's eastern sector, said the president of the Feng Shui Research Institute of Thailand.

And according to the ancient Chinese practice of geomancy, or feng shui, the placement and shapes of natural features, buildings or even furniture can have positive or negative effects on qi, or life energy, and that applies to airports as much as anything else.

Feng shui is widely used in Asia's business world, and experts said that some landscaping changes such as realigning the directions of approach roads can help Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi situation to improve.

Suvarnabhum airport is wrongly located on relatively flat, reclaimed wetlands, and it's curved sections of roofing should be redesigned because they look like waves when there shouldn't be water energy in that sector.

About Don Muang second Thailand airport, experts said that the old airport can help with energy thanks to its terminal's rectangular shape that improve energy collection.

Don't stop with the statues; tear down the whole place and build somewhere with better Feng Shui .

Noticed on Bangkok Post front page that it will cost one million baht to move the statues...

Every culture and country has a few little things that really seem squirrelly to the rest of the world. This is one, I guess.

As Feng Shui has no basis in reality I applaud them for coming up with another excuse to lift a million from their own budget.

Maybe they could put a billboard up at the airport stating "This Country is Red" like the bumper stickers. Get a monk to preside and save some tax money.

It should be clear to anyone with an understanding of Asian, and particularly Thai, thinking that all the problems which beset Suwannaphum Airport are definitely caused by these “Raksa” statues so it is essential that they be removed quickly and at whatever cost.

The Duty Free "shoplifting" scams and overpricing, the ever present Taxi and Tour Guide Touts, the surly Staff in Immigration and Customs – these too are undoubtedly the result of bad "Feng Shi" and particularly the malign influence of the statues; once the statues have been removed all these other minor irritants will disappear automatically without authorities needing to trouble themselves to intervene.

Feng Shui is so much more than just what you're seeing. It's also about the amount of money that the officials can pocket by making the bill to move the statues much higher than the actual cost and expenses.

I know it was stolen in the first place since I was Taxed.

Guys you are all right, one way or the other, but I'm sure this will work, and things will improve at the airport. If they do the roof also guaranteed 100% improvement. I tested this part of Chinese Metaphysics and it works, even thou the whole discipline and calculations involve is way more complex this is what you'll always get out of an newspaper article, is written for all IQ's so bear with the language and interpretation.
