Anybody know where Thai people go to buy eyeglass frames in Bkk or CM? They can't be paying these 2500 to 10,000 baht prices I'm seeing in CM eyeglass stores for two tiny rimless pieces of metal worth about 3 baht.

Who do you think is buying them? You already know it is not you.

Eyeglass frames are expensive items. But believe all places will have a selection in various price ranges. The chain stores are probably the most used. Have not checked but government hospitals have them so they are probably the lowest price for name brands.

Maybe buy the cheap drug store reading glasses and change the lens?

Go to the govt. hospital, "kee neeow!".

You will get the National Health style.

I can not speak for upcountry but I can say that Chula has a large selection of name brand frames in various styles on display.

Check out some of the frame stores in Siam Square behind Lido.

Well, up in CM I don't see any eyeglass frames for 299 b! Are you talking about Bangkok? I will be going there soon, so I guess I will wait until I get there.

I think the eyeglass frame industry is one of the great ripoff industries on the planet, don't you?
