Car Hire From Aranyaprathet

Featured Replies

Hi,

In February I plan to fly from Bangkok to Phnom Pehn, then travel to Siem Reap, crossing back into Thailand at Poipet - Aranyaprathet.

Is there a car rental agency in Aranyaprathet - I want to drive to Kalasin returning car to Udon Thani airport.

Tim

I am in a similar boat, does anyone know if you can drive in Cambodia (like we do in Thailand), and if so if it is possible to leave the hired car at a border town in Cambodia as apposed to returning it to the city it was hiered from (Pnom Pehn).

Is it possible to do it the other way around and drive from LOS and leave the hired car in Phnom Pehn (Avis) or other international hire companies and fly on from there?

Regards

Tony

in Aran there is no branch of any of those big companies such as Budget, Avis, Hertz, National, Thairentacar.....

maybe there are small local companies, but forget about returning the car at any other location than the origin....

I just came across this post on driving in Cambodia, I think after reading it I will give the self-drive car hire option a wide birth. I have no fear of how they drive, probably no worse than me, but the uncertianty of petrol, buying out of roadside jerry-cans is not an option.
