Power Port On Thai Air

Featured Replies

Does anyone know which adaptor the power port in 'Khwai class' (economy) on Thai airways uses, on the A340-500? Is it the cigarette lighter type or the prong.

thanks

I've not flown economy on that aircraft, but if the outlets are the same as in business class, they will accept both the standard flat blade or round pin plugs. Yes, it's 110 VAC. One problem is that the outlets will sometimes (at some seats) trip off if you draw too much current. I've found that happening when using my Macbook Pro. In once case, my outlet was tripping off, but when I plugged the adapter into my wife's seat, it worked without a problem.

I flew here on Thai A340-600 and there was no power port of any kind for a laptop computer in economy.

thai A340-600s do not have power points in economy, but the A340-500s do. This is presumably because the 500s are super long haul aircraft originally purchased for the BKK-JFK and BKK-LAX nonstops.
