Ed-visa But Non-ed Stamp ?

Featured Replies

hy everybody!

i got a 12 month ED-visa for an internship at bkk. but as i had a look in my passport some days ago i remarked that i only got a NON-ED stamp, admitted 30 days...!

is that a mistake? if not, why do i pay 120€ for an ED visa if it values not more than a 30-days tourist visa for 50€???

does anyone know what i can do now?

....thanks!

The non-ED should have given you an entry for 90 days. Immigration made a mistake, which is not uncommon. You will have to go to the immigration office and have the stamp adjusted.

The 12 month Ed-visa allows you to enter for a maximum of 90 days, each time you enter Thailand during the year of it's validity. So after 90 days you have to leave the country but can return the same day, as long as your visa is valid.

thank you!

but is there no other way to extend the visa? i can´t be bothered to do sth like these wired a visa runs...!!!

You would need to be a student at a recognized educational institution in Thailand for that.

It sounds to me you are studying abroad and doing an internship here. In that case, do you have (an exemption for) a work permit. Without a work permit or confirmation that you don't need a work permit as this is part of your study you would be working illegally.
