From other threads, I understand Jarunee has left Grace for another clinic. She's the only dentist I've ever had at Grace, as I've only had annual checkups and cleanings. And whether I got her thru luck of the draw, or whether she was the designated 'checkup and cleaning' dentist, I don't know.

But it's time again for my checkup -- is there now a new, or different, 'checkup and cleaning' dentist at Grace? If so, how does she compare to Jarunee?

Or, if I'll now just get luck of the draw, any horror stories?

Bottom line. Who stuck with Grace, but wish they'd followed Jarunee to her new clinic?

Thanx.

I'm a Grace regular, was due for cleaning back last June sometime and was considering going to Dr Jarunee at her new clinic. In the end I decided to have it done at Grace by whomever has taken over from her - mainly because I have a couple of other ongoing matters that Grace are already treating.

The "new" (well, new to me anyhow) younger cleaning specialist seemed every bit as good i.e. thorough etc as the excellent Dr Jarunee (BTW I'm a smoker with a serious tea/coffee habit to boot) - and no pain during the procedure. I'm very fond of Dr J and I miss our fun chats but, regarding skill/expertise/procedure etc, no complaints about her successor at Grace.

I was going to agree with elektrified that if you really liked what Dr J does (and, unlike me, have no other ongoing treatments at Grace) then you might as well go to her new place. Then I remembered reading some mention that she now avoids doing the cleaning herself - I'm hazy about this so please don't take it as confirmed fact and do call her new practice to check. Otherwise, my take is that you won't be disappointed by her successor at Grace for your cleaning/check-up; come to that I've never had less than first-class experiences from any of the Grace team in about five years of going there for everything from cleaning through root canal work to crowns etc.

I recently went to Dr. J. and she did the cleaning herself. She might have other staff also doing that work, but I guess if you specifically request her (as I did), you will get her.

I, too, have stayed at Grace because I want the continuity. And all my cleanings (last one last week) have always been done by the dentist, not a dental hygienist like I expected.

Steve2UK, Dr. Jarunee does all the cleaning herself. That is her specialty. She does, however, farm out all other procedures to her associates.

Where is her clinic, and how much does she charge for the teeth cleaning?

Cheers :)

Jarunee is the best and worth going to see at her new place. Also you will be surprised at the prices!! A bit

better than Grace, who is gradually up-ing the prices higher these days.

When you e-mail Jarunee, she will include a map. It is almost to Hang dong, on the canal road. I still go to

Korakot for other things, but go to Jarunee for as much as I can.

Interesting to see the wonderful Dr Kassara also featured there - another face (well, face behind a mask) that I know very well from root-canal work at Grace. I knew that many specialists work at hospitals as well as Grace - but seems to be rival clinics, too.

well, face behind a mask)

......which reminds me, Jarunee has the prettiest eyes, especially when highlighted by the mask.

That, and decent parking, may make the decision......

How is the parking? (Never had any problems at Grace.)

Also, interesting hours -- only appointments after 2pm, except Fridays and weekends...

Parking is easy. It's kinda out in the middle of nowhere so you have to watch out for the signs that she has out on the road (Thai only), or else its easy to pass the place. If I remember correctly, it's her clinic first, then a little coffee shop, followed by a pet shop and maybe another shop. You can park in front of these shops.

Thanks for that.

I wonder what Jarunee does Monday thru Thursday before 2PM (since the clinic is closed)? Is she, maybe, teaching? Would love to know the particulars of the 'why' behind her jump from Grace. Anyway, just wondering out loud, as she really is a top-notch lady and professional.

I think that she did mention that she was teaching. I don't think the clinic is closed per se as her associates have offices in there and have patients.
