Funny, I've never seen any bikes priced in dollars in Thailand before... :)

But is it a good deal

What authorised main dealer for Honda big bikes exists in Thailand ??

Good deal in Thailand, or deal in Denmark, or good deal in timbucktoo ??

Is it a good deal?

Well let me ask you this instead: Does it have a green book and plates?

By main dealer you mean there's lots of big bike Yamahas in the show room that are sold legally under the FTA, in the 400k Baht + range? And yes there are authorized Yamaha big bike dealers in TH, quite a few really... but Yamaha doesn't normally sell this model in TH. Also what's with the $ price?

For the states, it ain't a good deal! check out Honda's range of comparable bikes for less.

I had two XL / XR 650s, they are good bikes with engines which will last...

I checked OTR prices a few years ago and these were way lower than $ 8,000 at large dealerships.

Right now, used bike prices are under pressure. You could grab something special for around $ 6,000 used.

A near new BUELL (Adventure),

A BMW, a ... the choices are endless.

For Thailand, the price would be excellent but I would worry about having the only model in the country.

Not sure where you are these days, Bob.
