Not sure of DVD's, but there are ways, via proxy or vpn (links not posted due to forum rules) where you can access iplayer and tvcatchup.

Best way (and one i am using) is to have someone in the UK host a "Slingbox" which will stream live TV to your computer. This has PVR capabilities so you can record the programs. If you have family in the UK, it's worth it, AND breaks no laws, both local and in the UK (disclaimer: as long as it's freeview).

If you are an advanced computer user, all the up to date UK soaps are legally available for free download on certain torrent sites.

These are not copyrighted and free to download.

You need to install either a Bittorrent or Azurus downloader software, again completely free. Search Google for a site and being downloading.

One downloader site, I believe is called: Xbox.

You can find a lot of UK TV programs on torrents here link to torrent site removed - it's just tv and radio progams, no movies or other illegal stuff that would cost sales. From what I can see they have most of the soaps and other stuff that goes out daily. This is th site I first go to when looking for UK TV programs, they have pretty much everything I ever looked for.

away, as far as live streaming - the Daddy is www.filmon.com

live uk TV for free, you'll not believe your eyes ! - only prob, need a true 2meg connection to stream it and mine is running at less than a quarter of that.....

So, thanks about the streaming - but does anyone know if anyone does DVD's of the British soaps ??

Cheers.

It's not often that I would side with sassienie, but why would a soap be copyrighted?

From your post after the one I have quoted, it seems as though you think that something is illegal just because it is a torrent which simply is not the case. Torrents are perfectly legal, it is only the sharing of pirated goods which are not allowed.

I wouldn't be so keen to call people stupid without checking because it can backfire.

Meh.

I am to busy watching stuff on youtube. Peter Kaye live from the tower was fantastic, as usual. Jack Dee is a funny bloke to and I am just about to watch the latest episode of "never mind the buzzcocks".

I could watch Eastenders but it ain't my cup of tea, know what I mean?

You can also download all the soaps, and practically everything else, from UK Nova, I have just watched last weeks episode of Spooks.

I think this is against Thai Visa rules ... discussing where to download illegal stuff ...

It was allowed before when someone asked a similar question, I suppose it depends if downloading from these sites is actually illegal, I really don't know. One site that allows access to iplayer by using a proxy server even advertises on The Radio Times website.

It's a real pity that this thread has deteriorated onto such unpleasantness between some members.

For legal reasons please do not post links to torrent sites (legal or otherwise), this is a blanket ban:-

17) Not to post links to pages that contain objectionable material. This includes, warez, cracks, file-sharing, pornography, pyramid schemes, referral ID's, eBay listings and requests for donations.

Discussion of torrents and how to get them working is fine, so long as no direct links to sites are included.
