Advice For A New Girl

Featured Replies

Hi girls,

It's so nice to find a forum where i can get some sensible answers instead of just being attacked!

I will be arriving in Thailand at the beginning of June, and hopefully heading down to Phuket for a while.

I have a few questions about what to bring with me, - Are there any essential items that you cannot get in Thailand? I have heard that tampons are difficult to get hold of?

What about the oral contraceptive pill? Do you need a prescription? Or can you buy it over the counter at the pharmacy?( My brand is Mycrogynon.)

And clothes, what do you girls wear in the evenings? Should I bring some nice jeans, or does everyone just wear shorts and t-shirts?

How about a really cute pair of cowboy boots? As much as i love them, i don't want to carry them around in my backpack if i really won't wear them.

Thanks for any info.

Would it be that much of a burden to carry a few pills to Thailand?

Women?????????

you can pretty much get anything in thailand these days but if you are heading up north or north east stock up on tampons as you cannot buy them anywhere (as I discovered after moving to Khon Kaen for 3 months :o ) If you use a particular (designer) brand of shampoo you may not be able to get it & the pill you can get anywhere. Have a great trip & welcome to the forum.

If it is not so hard for you to carrythe pill along then ... you should bring it from home but the clothes and other stuff.. just don't worry ..... we have plenty here... and definitely not a pair of boots.... I bet you won't be comfy wearing them on ...
