maccaroni man
i was on a road trip from samui to bangkok in my toyota tiger, the roads have some rough patches so i guess one of the bumps jarred my battery and it slid next to a belt pully. when i did my fluid check i noticed the battery case with scored marks and one empty cell. the next day i gave it a better look over and it looks like the acid from the battery has begun to eat away at many of the metal parts but i am wondering will it damage the rubber hoses? also if i use a poxy to seal the hole in the battery is it possible to have that cell come back. btw the battery is less than 2mo old. Spoonman
The battery is now stuffed, it will not recover the leaked cell. As for the Acid, give the engine bay a good pressure clean, the hoses will be fine.

seedy
If you want to be sure that you washed off ALL of the acid, fill a spray bottle with a baking soda and water solution. Any remaining acid will cause the solution to bubble so you can easily rewash that area. No bubbles, no acid.
