Hi,

My wife and I had bought a Bar and now we are thinking about splitting up. For the more experienced on the forum I have been considering Forming my Own Thai Limited Company and transferring the Bar to the Company this way I will not lose the bar to my wife.

My Lawyer also says to make myself the only Director of the company I would need to first obtain a Work Permit, then the changes could be made so that I'm the only Director of the company.

For those that know the law better than I, would creating the company, then the work permit to become the sole director be the best choice in this situation? I am going to talk to a few other Bar Owners (Single Guys) to see how they have arranged it but thought I'd ask those on the forum also.

From my experience if the bar value is under 3 million not worth it. Over maybe. Your are going to need a Thai partner for the license. Not you or a company.

Anyway, she would be able to get 50% of the company.

Everything you acquired after marriage is split 50-50.

If you had acquired the bar before marriage it's yours.

If you don't have a company, who owns the bar?

Are the lease in her name or yours?
