I have to submit/collect my work permit in Singapore (at thai embassy) soon and have heard that for a fee I can arrange a company to do this for me. Does anyone know the names of any companies that offer this service? I heard of one before but can't for the life of me remember the proper name, all I know is that it started with a Z and was something like ZBMB. Odd I know but I heard they were very good. I cannot allow for anything going wrong as I only have these 3 days to get it all sorted and will not be getting any more time off to arrange so the company MUST be reliable and know what they are doing.

Anyways if anyone has used one before and can recommend it would be much appreciated.

Well my only comment would be, you will not be collecting your WP at the Thai emabassy in Singapore, as the Thai Embassy in Singapore has nothing to do with WP's...its the dept of labour in Thailand, your WP gets issued here...

The only thing you could be picking up is your passport with your Non-imm "B" or possibly an "O" in..

Any courier service in Singapore will pick up a P/P for you....you need to provide a letter giving that permission..

If you are in Singapore..why dont you pick it up yourself ???

Sorry was getting muddled up, yes it is my non imm F visa which I will be picking up from the Thai Embassy.

Whats my reason for getting someone else to arrange this all for me?? Why not. With the small amount of holiday leave I get I would much rather be out shopping/relaxing than trail to the embassy 3 days in a row.

Why visiting the embassy 3 days in row.....drop your passport off in the morning and pick it up the next day in the morning.

BTW what is an Non-imm F...havent heard of that one ??....The embassy in Singapore is pretty good organisationwise...pretty much drop off one day, pay your money, providing your paperwork is straight, in and out the next day quickly...does not interfer with shopping or relaxing at all.

Having "done" the embassy in Singapore many times, the only other reason I could think of for using a courier, is you plan to not leave Thailand and just send your passport perhaps ?...which I hope you know is illegal..

Couier companies are quite expensive BTW

Kuhn (Ms.) Sarah -- You are a Citizen of what country?

(from RT Embassy, Washington, DC)
Diplomatic/Official Visa
Purpose of Visit:- This type of visa may be issued to diplomatic or official passport-holders who wish to assume duties at a foreign Diplomatic Mission or Consulate or International Organization in the Kingdom

(Assuming that you allready hold a Diplomatic/Official Passport from your Home country) will you be assuming duties on behalf of your country's Government or on behalf of an International NGO (paperwork question)? Why has not your sponsoring Government/International NGO arranged this all for you in advance?

Non-imm "F' is to perform official duties. I think she is referring to using an agent rather than a courier company, but I agree, I don't see the need.

Ah learn something new every day..Thanks...so this is a diplomatic type visa...ie in country as a repsentative of another country ??...

If so this begs the question why the OP needs to ake care of this herself..guess the body she is respresenting would sort everything out ??

Its going a bit off topic now. All I wanted was for a company to pick up my passport/forms and take them to the embassy for me to submit and then 2 days later to collect as I had heard that this was an option (of course for a small fee).

My company do not organise this for me, its my responsibility to organise it all.

Thanks for the replies.

For an American, the Diplomatic / Official Passport would be issued at The State Department through the auspices of your Government agency or International NGO.

The initial Thai Diplomatic / Official Visa would be issued at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washiongton, DC.

The extension of Visa, if any, would be according to 2.27

2.27 In the case of performing a duty or task for a government agency or state enterprise or other government agency or embassy or consulate or an International organization: Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 90 days at a time.

Except in special circumstances where individuals need could be granted not more than 1 year:

(1) Confirmation and request has been made by a government agency at the level of department or equivalent, or police office or government agency attached to the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, or the Army, Navy or Air Forces, whose rank of Major General, Navy Major General, Air Force Major general or higher or by the international organization.

(2) In case of applicant needs to stay longer than 90 days, the competent official will request to the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police Headquarters or Deputy of the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police Headquarters to consider the application.

As I posted elsewhere on this Forum, Extension based on 2.27 is ONEROUS.

Non-Imm 'F' Diplomatic / International NGO-type Visa... and you say that you not as yet have submitted any papers and want this all handled within 3 days in Singapore which I presume is not your home country?

Sorry was getting muddled up, yes it is my non imm F visa which I will be picking up from the Thai Embassy. I sincerely hope Kuhn (Ms.) S. has sorted out all her Non-Imm 'F' (or other such) visa affairs. It is a particularly involved situation even when one is working from one's home country with the full support of 'my company'.

I had already delved into this matter as I may start to represent in SE Asia an International NGO (once its IRS 501c3 tax status is approved) sometime next year and such affiliation would qualify me for both a US Diplomatic / Offical Passport and an 'F' type Visa from the Kingdom. However, such Passports and Visas are intended only for use while on official business and that all other travel must be conducted using the regular Passport and Visa and any extensions thereof.

Also, as I mentioned, the Extension of Stay in Thailand whether for 90 or 365 days is particularly onerous. Going through the hassle of obtaining the 'F' Visa just so I can use the Diplomatic Passport lane at Swampy (and the attendant bragging rights) is not worth the effort.

Jazzbo - I am certainly not going through all of this hassle just so that I can get into the 'diplomatic' queue at the airport. I have no choice but to get an Non Immigrant 'F' for many reasons. 2 of my colleagues have obtained 'non imm F's' in the last few months in different countries with no hassle at all. Since there doesn't seem to any drop off/pick up services I will be going to the embassy myself it seems.

Thankyou for all your help and advice but I think its time to close this out.

MODS can you close this please. Many thanks.
