I would check the back issues of the letters in the Bangkok Post, I seem to remember an open letter complaining about construction noise around the Diana Estate.

I might be wrong but you should check or bring lots of ear plugs.

1.you did not say for what time of year-I guess even in Deutschland they have high and low seasons. In low season you can just come and see what is there-there are several other comparable places around in that area-and plenty of bar beer too to deliver the ladies for the night.

2.dont be so duuhhh to commit yourself for such a long time without even having seen it and treid out 1 night-you can always bargain for a long-stay lower rent if you happen to like it. And even then never for more as 1 month-maybe you get bored with the area after all, want to change venue-whatever. PTY has 10.000s more of such places-and they hardly differ in what they offer. Even asking about food, beer etc is completely superfluous-(=ueberfluessig), of course its always there. Point is more: do YOU like the food/bars or prefer other ones?

Hi Thiawarner

I lived at the Diana Estate for about 2 years, in a smallish studio, me and my GF (now my wife). The place was ideal for us they have two pools one large one opposite the main building a small one by the Estate office. They did have a Restaurant there when we stayed food was always good but with soi Buakhao right outside the estate there are so many good places to eat. The night life is diverse to say the least from British type pub, beer bars to go-go bars all within a short walk. We never had any problems living here the security are good (especially the old guy supervisor I think) you motor bike will be safe there if you hire one that is. I never heard about any condos being broken in to every one seemed to keep an eye on you condo one they know it was occupied. The walls are a bit thin so you could get to hear a bit more than you bargained for!!

All in all a decent place to spend a month or two, the rent for us was fairly cheap because the condo was my mates, but I did look on the accommodations board a couple of times and they always had a few condos for rent from studio to 2 bed room they varied from 9000Bht-11000 a month for a studio cannot remember the cost of the bigger condos. Hope this helps mate regards Andy.

PS i only moved last year so prices could have changed

There are two big buildings. The one in back is getting dated. Decent sized studios for the price though. Chickens and roosters bothered me on my last trip in December so I stayed just one night then moved on. "newer" building on the right I stayed for 2 nights summer of 2011. Liked the setup but there was some late night bar or something around the corner that played well past 4 am. never did quite find out which bar it was or the little street that was making the noise. Was very dissappinted because the room was modern and clean. Some little Thai gal seems to rent out units from some individual owners. Worth checking out again. The location is nice. Take Baht bus and go either direction on Soi Bukao. Short walk down to Pattaya klang, or walk down to beach road etc. The location must have been primo ten years ago. A nice plot
