Getting Back To Thailand!

Featured Replies

:o I came back to the Uk at the begining of March due to a bereavement in the family.I flew with Phuket air on a 3 month open return ticket and have since found out that they have ceased flights back and forth to the UK.

I have tried phoning the London office(stuttering stoned female says leave your number and we'll get back to you, which I have for the last week)and emailing the BKK office to no avail.Anyone else in a similar position to me with their return flight up in the air?(wish it was!)

It looks increasingily like I will have to get another ticket with another flight unless anyone has got any advice/help? cheers.

Suggest you try the Travel thread, there are a bunch of postings regarding the current wacky hijinx and crazy mayhem on Phuket Air over there.....

My Wife and Son were told by Travel Agent b4 they left BKK that Poo. Air had an arangement with Thai Airways and would be transfered to another flight for their return to BKK, 17 May. I told the TA to get it booked.

After contacting PA, the TA informed us we'd have to arrange this in London. (He did try to get this sorted, as I wanted to buy another ticket from him with an airline that co-insided with my wife's return, so I can go and pick them up from Blighty.) But I guess they fobbed him off, just the same as when all the rest of us try to get info.

At check in on 4 April BKK, the girl seemed to (pretended to?) have no knowledge of the flight route closing down. Just maybe they fob off the employees too.

Nevermind, arival in LGW at 08:30ish: go to office in South terminal and get it sorted.

Flight was delayed 11.5 hrs. in Shargah which conveniently meant that the office would be closed when they got there. (I was following the flight on the Internet while seeing all the horror stories of Poo Air for the first time)

Phonecalls to London Office say: "just turn up on the day you want to travel and you'll be put on a flight." WHAT?? WHAT AIRPORT?

"Gatwick - go to our office." WILL IT BE OPEN ON 17 MAY?

I didn't ask personally but the first reply assumed it would be, I guess?

WHAT OTHER FLIGHTS GO FROM GATWICK TO BKK? excuse me for shouting, but does anyone know?

Like the first guy in this thread, I want to know how they handle these return tickets. Anyone else in the same 'boat'?

I've been phoning them in BKK, but numbers are engaged and when I went sending wife and parents off to Blighty at different times of day & evening, P.A. office at airport was always closed.

Good luck travellers

All the best
