Hi

I am a Thai guy, and I am going to the States next month around 25th January. I will start with Las Vegas first because I have a Thai friend over there. Then I' ll see what I will do next. I am wondering if someone can recommend me the places where they like asian guys. Maybe, some other websites that I can find farang who likes to have asian friends when I get over there. About me, I am 29 years old slim and good looking ( I think so, and I have been told so). Nothing serious, I just want to have a good time in the States. I am very....... very.......... excited about this trip. Sorry, if I post in the wrong website, but I don't know where to start. Sincerely

Hi Note, how are you? How long will you be in Vegas? What kinds of things do you want to do? I don't know Vegas very well, I live in the northern part of the state in Reno, I've only been there a few months, pretty boring. Vegas will have more going on for sure so you'll find many things to do. I am sorry to say that I don't have any specific recommendations about gay places there.

I can do a little research and report back to you, what kind of thing do you want to do most? Like clubs/bars or saunas? I am just guessing but I think there must be even a gay casino, or at least a casino that has gay friendly events or something. I will check. What will you do there? Just vacation? How many days?

Hello Note....Krave is the big club there and a selection of smaller ones. You might consider taking a 4-5 hour drive over to West Hollywood in Los Angeles, one of the largest gay communities in the US and spend a few days. San Diego is also an enjoyable drive from Vegas with a large gay population. A few days in Vegas should be enough then drive over to LA spend a few days then drive down to San Diego, check it out and drive back to Vegas. Mapquest it.

Have fun !

Although they say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, I am curious about your visa process.

Maybe this is inappropriate, because it is visa related, but I'm curious to know how you found the visa process and how long it took you to get through the bureaucracy. One of my Thai friends, and he's respectable - has a job and goes to university part time, is considering a visit to North America, but he is terrified of the visa hassles.

Apologies if this is a tangent, but it is so rare that a Thai shows up that has obtained a visa, so opportunistic vultures like me have to swoop in to pick at the info. Thanks.

Hi Note,

The gay bars in Vegas are pretty much spread throughout town. The only real gay "area" is behind the MGM where the Gipsy is. As far as asians, I haven't found a place with an abundance of asians. :) But, because of that, you shouldn't have much trouble finding a guy to hook up with.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks to everyone especially Hollywood and VegasTim.

To answer geriatrickid, I have to be honest with you that I find obtaining a u. s visa is difficult for Thai people. Each applicant has a burden of proof that he or she has a compelling reason to return back to his or her own resident country.

I didn't get it in the first time too, and I was very disappointed. Then I prepared myself again and I tried to find my strength. After that, I re-applied again, and I got it. At that time, I determined to take control the situation (conversation) , not to let them put me into the corner again. I fought extremely hard, and victory was mine. After I finished the interview, I felt like I just came back from a war ( ha.............ha).

Your Thai friend must present the strong evidence of finance , career as well as social ties . Beside from the evidence, I find the interview is very important as well.

Your Thai friend has to ask himself , what is the compelling reson for him to retuen back to Thailand. Use that reason to convince the CEO during the interview. I just found out that I am not allowed to post URL. So please check on travel.state.gov and click on Frequently requested visa information (visa denials) . It will explain to you everything

Good luck to your friend

geriatrickid, note133: my partner just got a tourist visa from the US embassy without as much hassle as is usually described on thaivsa. She is transgendered and had no job, no solid job history, no education, and only 60k baht in the bank... and I live in the US. She had an extensive travel record with me (15 countries, including developed countries), and a marriage certificate from Canada (with me of course). The blonde lady that "interviewed" her behind a pane of glass basically just asked with a big smile if she loved me, to which my partner said yes, then handed back all the photos, documents, my partner gave her (without even looking at them) and that was it, she said "you'll get your visa in a few days." Lo and behold, yesterday on christmas she recieved her visa and it was a 10-year Multiple-Entry visa!

I might guess that maybe one of Obama's minions sent out a state department memo to tolerate same-sex immigrants or something, either that or we just got really lucky with this nice lady...

you can read more details on the story in my post in the visa forum.

I am astounded that no one has mentioned San Francisco.

There are gay clubs there catering to Asians who want to hook up with Occidentals. Googling gay venues in San Francisco will bring forth a whole list of interesting places. The physical scenery also is worth a visit with Muir Woods be of special interest. There are lots of gay Oc cidentals in San Franciso who appreciate culture and would be more than willing to cart you off to museums, parks, woodlands and the many Mariltime associate places around. Posting in Gay Romeo would help and Craig's List for San Francisco would be a good place to advert. I personally found Las Vegas to be rather homophobic and very heterosexual-centric.

this is a BEAUTIFUL thing and I'm very happy to hear that it CAN happen. I think travel to 15 countries with the same partner really clinched it tho. Personally I wish they would just loosen up a BIT on thai T girls. So many other groups get in in large numbers in the U.S. It's not as if there will be an invasion. I'd bet they would represent some of the lowest problem entrants we have.
