Where To Buy Tree (odd) Seeds In Pattaya/jomtien?

My father's friend is amateur botanist. He asked me to buy 5 seeds of the following sorts of trees: Encephalartos Altensteinii, Mauritia Flexuosa, Marojejya Darianii, Schizolobium Parahybum, Cyrtostachys Lakka - when I am in Pattaya.

I know Thai usually plant trees and do not bother with tree seeds.

Does anybody know where I can buy these seeds?

Pattaya is a concrete jungle, not really hot on trees.

I think that you'd be extremely lucky to locate these seeds in Pattaya, especially if you do not know the Thai name for them and if they are not commonly grown. Chiang Mai is a better area for locating seeds and plants.

It would probably be a lot easier for your friend to order them online, probably from a foreign company.

There doesn't seem to be any restrictions on importing seeds, only plants.

I don't know about this company, but if they don't have the seeds for the palms you want, you probably will not be able to locate them. You could maybe contact them and ask for advice.

You could try Nong Nooch - about 15km south of Pattaya on the Sukhumvit Road.

I'm not sure if they sell seeds but they do have a vast collection of tropical plants and trees. Worth a visit for the gardens and shows anyway.
