Blotting In Pregnancy

Featured Replies

During pregnancy the hormone progesterone is produced in sufficient quantities to slow down the passage of food through the gut.

This I am aware of.

Have been told that bicarbonate of soda works and watching my tilack in pain I gave her some and hey presto wind and more wind but is it OK to give her. Where in Buriram could I buy Bicarbonate of Soda “Macro”.

Also worried about stretch marks have been told that Vitamin E cream at 1000 international unit concentration works where to get.

Boo said that bio oil works where to get.

“I know I wonder sometimes who is pregnant " :)

What you're thinking of is baking soda. Can be found at any Tesco or Big C or Carrefour. Can't imagine taking it for wind though. Why not go to a pharmacy and ask for Air X? It's given to babies and grown ups and is easily taken by pregnant women. Or even Eno should work, and that's available at any 7-11.

I also looked for vitamin E tablets when I was pregnant as I was obsessive about stretchmarks (and have now come to find that they're more a result of genetics than anything we can apply to our bodies). However, I would think that any kind of lotion massaged to the tummy would help with keeping the skin elastic, or as elastic as possible. My mum sent me something from home that she bought from the Body Shop. They have shops in Bangkok and I'm sure you could order from them here in Thailand. But, really, our skin's only as stretchy as it is, no matter what we put on it.

Nice to see a man taking such an interest in his pregnant wife's comfort and well being.

good luck to the both of you :)

cheers,

tt

I used Vitamin E enriched Vaseline intensive care on my first wife. Also used natural lanolin but found this to be a bit thick.

I think (no expert) that it is important to massage or rub whatever you use very slowly. The skin is already stretching and if you rub hard it then it will do more damage.

My first wife (Sri Lankan) has no stretch marks. She was worried because they are susceptible same as Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese etc.

I think it is important to start from day one. Prepare the skin. I say this because this is what I did and got perfect results.

Pay attention to their thighs as well. I (we) overlooked this and she does have some marks there although nothing bad.

Shame I put so much effort into a witch though.

Vitamin E is great stuff. I got chicken pox really bad in my early thirties and there was not one square inch of my body that did not have a blister. I was told to use Vitamin E oil capsules.

Pricked the end and dotted the oil on each blister. Took ages each night but not one scar. Well one or two but you would never know.

Take you time with your partner. She probably has a great stomach and will appreciate being able to keep it that way.

My new wife and I are looking at having children hence the reason I searched and found this thread. Good luck.
