BANGKOK, Dec 21 (TNA) - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has fully recovered from his illness but will remain in hospital for a time for added recuperation, according to the Royal Household Bureau's statement.

The Royal Household Bureau in its 35rd statement on the king's condition, said his team of physicians had reported that His Majesty the King had fully recovered but would stay at Siriraj Hospital's Chalermprakiet Building for further recuperation under the supervision of his doctors.

The medical team will provide physical therapy to revitalise his physical strength in his muscles, according to the statement.

King Bhumibol will be given dietary supplements under the doctors pescriptions.

The world's longest-reigning monarch was admitted to Siriraj Hospital on September 19 with a lung infection and fever.

Since then, numbers well-wishers have visited the hospital every day to wish him a speedy recovery. His only appearances in three months were at the hospital -- first, when he was accompanied by doctors to the hospital's ground floor on October 23 to pay homage to his late mother, Princess Srinagarindra, and King Rama V on the occasion of Chulalongkorn Memorial Day, and when he joined HM the Queen and other royal family members in launching their floral krathong at the hospital's pier on November 2.

His third and latest appearance was on December 5 when he celebrated his 82nd birthday. He granted audience to the royal family, members of Cabinet, members of parliament and top bureaucrats at the Grand Palace's Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall. (TNA)
