Cold And Coughing And Thai Doctors

Featured Replies

I've got a cold, including coughing, since about one month. No fever. Because I don't trust Thai doctors too much (I've had some unfortunate experiences), I haven't visited one of them yet. I'm afraid I will be given antibiotics which might not really be necessary.

I hoped my cold would heal by itself, but I'm getting a bit worried now. My question is : can a treatment for these symptoms (cold, coughing) easily be diagnosed by a doctor or is it a "hit-or-miss" situation ?

It's amazing the amount of farang who go to doctors for advice and then don't like the advice they've been given. If you don't trust them in the first place, just don't go!

more like an infection of lungs, irritation by food or chemicals, maybe allergy (cats, dogs, birds) than a common cold.

most probably you have tried different remedies and you do take care of yourself, but avoid air con and cold drinks.

if depsite of all effords you don't see any improvement, go see the doctor - they are good and bad ones, whether thailand or anywhere else. Going to a good, reputable doctor in thailand costs not much more, than going to any doctor.

Thanks. I found out a few days ago that not using my air conditioning, does decrease the problem, so it looks like the problem is air con-related.

change/clean the filter.

but still look for a doctor - you don't have to take any advice, treatment or any medicine offered to you, but at least you would have some tests and diagnosis
