we're trying to discourage.

You're a voting member of the Thai public or a member of the Democrat Party or higher authority? If not, I suggest you are not one of the "we're" as foreigners are specifically disallowed from taking an active role in Thai politics.

In that case you are just another guest in the country who objects to one political party or it's members highlighting something about the other party that you don't agree with. Hardly makes you a member of the "we're".

Of course it's totally ridiculous to think that the Democrats might come up with the idea to assassinate Thaksin-- especially seeing he seems to have gazumped them every step of the way.

Nevertheless, his statement was right. Whether it's appropriate or not!

"The term "get rid of" is a codeword for killing,"

As my Skool teacher once told me... "Could do better" :):D:D

it comes all to the thai law sistem failure,in australia taksin be charge with treesen start terrorisem in the country ,thered leaders be all in jail for conspirecy with a criminal, the red october criminals be in for life. but that thailand we love criminals

Hmm, actually in Australia the current "Yes Minister" government would get a media analysis on how to spin it, poll the electorate and then send the issue to a committee for further study, so no nothing would happen there.

When will you clowns realise that it just doesn't matter which mob have got their snouts in the trough, as it is the same end result? In fact the Pomms and Yanks here should be more concerned about the disasters their own countries are heading for through corrupt and stupid leaders, certainly worse than here.

To quote Chrchill regarding the Wests rush to embrace the mediocrity of socialism: "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of misery."

Taksin isn't even in the race, as he never managed to financially destroy a country.

Way back a poster uploaded the lyrics to The Whos "Won't Get Fooled Again", suggest it as required reading for Politics 101.

Pulp Fiction-flashback...

(ref. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1ms_ZblbR4...576&index=1 at 2:45)

VINCENT

What's her name again?

JULES

Mia. Why you so interested in big

man's wife?

VINCENT

Well, Marsellus is leavin' for Florida

and when he's gone, he wants me to

take care of Mia.

JULES

Take care of her?

Making a gun out of his finger and placing it to his head.

VINCENT

Not that! Take her out. Show her a

good time. Don't let her get lonely.

This whole saga just goes to prove, if any words can be taken incorrectly, some will twist them as far as they can...I read the documents and didn't find anything like this implied.

Jatuporn is just trying to incite hatred and division. That is his role in team red. The more mundane claims come from different spokepersons and the outrageous ones that never involve any real evidence come from Jatuporn. Look to who is speaking for the reds to decide on potentail veracity of claim.

The asset seizure case is coming to conclusion and the Thaksin side need a game changer or enhanced hand before it does. Jatuporn is going to try and stir before a demo. The same happened before Songkhran alkthough the rather odd egocentric Jakrapob did the firing up then.

THAT'S IT! I'M OUTTA HERE. NOBODY wants or can give any facts! I have asked twice to no avail.

CONCLUSION: just a blabbering bunch, who do not know what they say.

Merry X-Mas to all. And shut up. :D:D:)

This keeps me wondering who the Good Guys are?

I am a Democrat, and I remember when the Red Shirts did that Evil Protest Riot and chased all the Dignitaries away from the Asian UN Summit in Pattaya a while back, and now they are coming out like they are the Good Guys who discovered and Evil plot by the current Administration? Yet they don't actually HAVE copies of the Documents, all they have is a Statement of Hersay that such documents exist? If I was the Democratic Administration I would have just stated no such documents exist PERIOD.

After all if they ARE Classified, that means you don't even have to acknowledge that a classified subject even exists! So why are they admitting to evidence that the opposition doesn't even have?

Do these guys even have Law Degrees?

Do they Hire Lawyers at all before they comment? :)

The whole thing appears rather childish from an objective perspective in my opinion.

I don't think stirring up a bunch of stuff with Cambodia is going to help anyone, in anyway regardless of Who said What.

The BEST thing Thailand can do is strive towards a positive healthy relationship with Cambodia, regardless of what some idiot may have said. The PEOPLE of a Country are more important than the opinions of ONE misguided leader. Remember that.

And I do not believe that Foriegn Policy should be made based on a Squabble about one little Temple, and Comments from a Misguided Leader. The best thing to do in this Situation is act more Grown up about the whole thing, and ignore it all.

Better yet extend some act of Kindness Towards Cambodia to show that none of this even affected the Opinions of the Current Administration. Because if you allow someone to Control you- THEY WILL.

If the Reds thing they can gain some kind of Control just by stirring up everyone's emotions, then they Succeed as Psychological Terrorists. However if they are completely ignored, and instead the Opposite Action is displayed than they wish to inspire, then they will have failed Utterly. :D

Besides, Cambodian people make Really Good Doughnuts! :D

Last government elections, the "man" offered the wife 500bht for her vote. I asked how many people were standing? "Three" was the reply. So why not tell everyone you vote for them? "Cannot, that would be dishonest" Go figure!

If you wife of farang, vote must be worth more? Same I pay more everywhere? "No, not work like that" Duh!

On the Bkk Post site, there's a breaking news story stating election commissioners will ask police to provide extra safety after the red-shirts threatened to burn their houses... :)

This follows a trend, with red-shirts allegedly (actually) suggesting PM Abhisit may be assassinated if he dared step foot in Chiang Mai.

Then there were also the attacks on the PM's motorcade, several times (and life in one instance, at the least).

Yes, there are apparent 'alleged' plans to kill, but not directed at Mr Thaksin...

76 billion and a share of the 'bounty' is up for grabs, but that's just the thin edge of the bosses wedge, with plans to 're-coup' even more...

Frank wants his dam_n money back (just for starters) and holidays be damned, Frank's needs comes FIRST.

Have a happy holiday all.

The reported threats against the EC members clearly indicate Frank is thinking beyond the assets seizure decision and pressing ahead with his planned toppling of the government followed by his never ending insistence on yet another election and thereby the 're-couping' of his position, status, power, authority.

Frank and his former chauffeur etc have more loot stashed away out of the reach of the assets examination commission and available to him than he's been letting on. So his unrelenting assaults continue.

Maybe he'll cash in some chits with his old pal Hun Sen along the way too.

While I appreciate the need for us Foreigners to be aware of Thai Politics, I do NOT see the need to report verbatum here, what has been printed in another newspaper, we may bemoan Thai politics but I am really sure that as we can do nothing about it or even them ( politicans) having it put on Thai visa is a complete waste of time and energy.

Thai Politics is like watching the local kindergarten at play, pettiness seems to rule the day, at least it appears that the current government is attempting to distance itself from the rumour mongers and govern the country , the other 66.9 million Thais would like that too, apart from the people in politics.

Could you please "Get rid of the Trash over there"? Now when my father said this he didn't want me to kill the trash just clean it up. Just like this whole mess they don't want to kill Mr. T. just put him were he belongs. In this case jail.

Get rid of the trash, and get rid of Thaksin isn’t really the same.

yet another way for Puea Thai to try to maintain Thaksin's name on the front pages.

The front pages are controlled by Thaksin and/or PT !!

I don't think so. Check who owns these media, and Thai censorship policy.

Edit: By PT I mean Puea Thai as quoted in the post to which I was responding.. As far as I am aware that is a proper name for the political party.

The front pages can hardly be controlled by Thaksin - he is not even resident. They can not be controlled by Puea Thai as they are not the favoured party.

a final public warning. Please refer to people by their REAL names not some made up or insulting nick name that you have decided on.

Example: Abhisit, Thaksin are acceptable.

Cheers, cause the next one is just going to get deleted without any notice.

Fawking English teachers. :)

I know, eh!? :D  Don't I know it! Too many of my ilk have been at it far too long - correcting can become obsessive compulsive.

Waist, waste, am wasted, was wasted, will/shall become wasted, was to have become wasted, could have become wasted, definitely did become wasted. Etc. Who wants to get wasted? Thaksin???

Many times have been wasted. I've been wasted many times.

Did someone say to 'waist' Thaksin? Maybe the best thing that voluntarily, on is own, could happen to him!

Then maybe he could get a life. He's wasted enuff of it already!

The entire Puea Thai party could perhaps move to their adopted Cambodia HQ (shared by the boss)
On the Bkk Post site, there's a breaking news story stating election commissioners will ask police to provide extra safety after the red-shirts threatened to burn their houses... :)

Also on there are the details of how the Puea Thai Party Leader in Cambodia is still calling the shots as he has selected who the Party will endorse in an upcoming by-election on Jan. 3 in Maha Sarakham which is being held after the previous Puea Thai Party winner was found guilty of bribery. There had been quite of bit of squabbling within the Party as to who would be chosen, but that has now been settled after consultation with the Party Leader.

Perhaps wait for a free press in Thailand when you will be able to read both sides of a story, and comments from both parties, before believing obvious propaganda

You can read anything in Thai newspapers and magazines, far more than you'll find in the Bangkok Post and The Nation
