It is so good!

The map is totally current and the directions are pretty flawless. My old Garmin look very lame now.

What GPS system do BMW use?

More to the point, what map does the Z4 use in Thailand?

With a base price of 4.5 million baht for the Z4 it had better be fuc_king excellent

A GPS is only as good as the map that is used. Since I only know of two decent Thailand maps, I would have to think it is either the Garmin South East Asia map or the better (IMHO) ESRI map. I do have both maps on my Garmin.

I second that opinion, I also have both maps on my Garmin.

Those that have both maps on their Garmin what is the advantages of that. I have a 215w with V10 ESRI but if there is any benefit in the se asia map will install it??

The ESRI map is in the internal memory of my Nuvi. The S.E. Asia map is on the memory card. I see very little advantage having it but see no advantage of removing it either. It's interesting to compare the routing. The ESRI routing is better.

The only benefit is that the Garmin/TeleAtlas City Navigator Southeast Asia map of Thailand has better road detail in some rural ares. Not an issue unless you happen to like dirt tracks and/or 4-wheeling. The wife's house, located on a tractor path 20km SSW of Phetchabun, only shows up on the Garmin/TeleAtlas map.

Thanks. Ill stick with ESRI v.10 seems to do the trick.

The ESRI map comes from the retailer on a CD with the actual map being an image (.img) file. That map file can be loaded into internal memory or transferred to a microSD/SD card for use with Garmin GPS units. The ESRI map is reportedly available for 2,000 baht from retailers and is locked to a specific Garmin GPS unit. Try www.eaglegps.co.th or www.gadgetrend.com
