Car Rego And On Road Costs?

Featured Replies

Could some one please me what the yearly rego and any other on road cost to running a car in Thaialnd

Thanks.......

Depends if you are a responsible owner/driver or not. Insurance, fuel quality purchased, regular service of vehicle, etc. I used a number of 7 baht/kilometer to figure depreciation, fuel and upkeep, etc but this may be on the low side at current prices.

Yearly road tax 6900 Bt for a black numbered plate.

Depends on the type of car you are taxing.

Last month I had to renew a friends car tax, cost was 1,6xx baht for a Toyota Vios on a black plate.

Yes the 6900 figure is as helpful as dose of H1N1 unless you say what the car is.

From experience:

Yaris (black plate) 1600bht

Tiger (green plate) 2200bht

Benz (black plate) 3400bht

there are a few variables which apply, best to go to your local dealer or DMV and ask for specifics.

then you need insurance (min legal req is level 3) from 700bht (ish) upwards. I've never paid more than 16k for level one (yaris) but my Sportrider which is an older car comes in at about 10k (level 1).

hope this helps.
