Flights From Bkk To Dili, East Timor

I am searching a Flight Connection from BKK to Dili, East Timor

I have "googled" without any reasonable Result - Garuda, Air Asia and SilkAir have no Connections

has anybody visited East Timor, Dili and could give me an Advice?

Suggest that you try routing Bangkok to Sydney and then to Darwin on Qantas. This will be pretty expensive so you could also try BKK/Brisbane/Darwin/Dili.

Go Bangkok-Singapore-Darwin with TigerAirways/AirAsia or Jetstar (whichever suits best to get to Darwin. SIN-DRW Jetstar only) and then Darwin-Dili with Air North.

the above is probably well meant, but looks like a big waste of cyberspace. And no- I have not been there, but know a bit about airlines etc and hold IATA-1.

For OP; IF you want to play travel-agent by yourself, get the basics first. and TELL them to responders, like would that be single or return, or do you want any quickflight/high price or the cheap=longer in time route? Or never flown/booked before?

1.start with TIMES/ROUTES; a site like amadeus.net-do NOT use the price search-get flights-then timetables. This is what that tr-agent would start with. you get an overview of conncetions if no direct-so you have at least a clue

2.alternatively via flightstats.com-then find the airport and its timings for flights out- the code is DIL [there are many similar codes/airports)

When I did that, I found Merpati to DPS=bali and MZ to SIN. but these flights are not daily, more like 2-3/week.

now for me its blinding obvious- either cheap=Air Asia to either, or any other airline and connect.

For tickets/fares: most likely a direct booking will mean very high fares. decide if you can pass the expense on or have to fork out yourself. IF the latter-its often much cheaper to fly domestic-that would be DPS-KUPANG on West-Timur, then bus it (thats 12 hrs acc. to my last guidebook)-I dont know and am too lazy to check what border rules exist here-besides without knowing your nationality that would be too buig a puzzle anyway.

From Dili they have flights to Darvin,Denpasar and Singapore.

Only Denpasar is daily,Singapore is 2 times a week,and SilkAir is expensive.

Denpasar is in Bali,Bali is in Indonesia(not everybody knows it)

My advice is - fly to Bali on return ticket and buy there ticket to Dili.

if you are not adventerous - buy ticket:BKK-SIN-DIL on SQ(SingaporeAir),SilkAir is part of SQ;

it is not cheap solution,but most reliable and very easy.
